IOW ~ Day 4

We have had the most amazing final day on the island, starting off with a long trip to Blackgang Chine. The views over the cliffs were spectacular on this journey, although it was very bendy and  narrow at times! When we arrived at Blackgang, we started the day with exclusive use of the log flumes and roller coaster; many of us braved our fears and Miss Bramley was very proud!

After this, we continued to explore the park which included the hedge maze, underwater world, cowboy area, spooky house and snakes and ladders.

After a fun morning, we then continued the beautiful drive up to Alum Bay to view the needles and watch the glass blowing and sweet making demonstrations.

After enjoying the free samples from the sweet shop, we took the long journey back to Sands Hotel. This evening we needed to pack up most of our suitcases and have a shower before getting ready for the final evening disco!
Lee the DJ played some excellent songs as well as our own choices and we all demonstrated some great dance moves. Although the room became very hot, we still continued partying late into the evening.

This evening marks the end of our Isle of Wight experience, although sad, we have had the most incredible time, made some wonderful memories and started some new friendships. We have enjoyed every second but we are also ready to come home now! We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!

A note from Miss Bramley:

Although I enjoy the Isle of Wight every year, this year has really made a mark on my heart . . . This is as a result of the phenomenal children I have shared this week with! The behaviour from the children has been exceptional and they have represented Huntley School amazingly. Every single one of these children has accomplished something this trip and I have watched them grow into divine young people. I feel amazingly proud of all them and the challenges they have overcome and you should all be proud of them too. This has been a wonderful week, with super company, and a year I will never forget. I adore every single one of these children and I have got to to know them even more than I could have possibly imagined. Well done year 6, you are all incredible and thank you for being so faultless! I hope this has been the week that you expected and deserved! Now let’s go and smash the rest of this year as the leaders of our wonderful school!
