We had the most amazing start to our World War 2 learning when we experienced the life of an evacuee. We visited Winchcombe station where we were transported back in time to 1940. We spent time singing wartime songs on the steam train, and we met a lovely lady named Marcel, who is a real evacuee, and she shared her experiences of being evacuated 5 times during World War 2! We also had to spend some time in an air raid shelter. . . This was quite scary! Farmer Bill taught us some jobs, and we helped put out the fires!
