Dean Heritage Centre
We enjoyed our day out at the Dean Heritage Centre finding out about what life was like in the past.
We experienced a Victorian school day-we wrote our name using 'Victorian curly letters' on a slate, found out how they were taught maths and learnt about punishments for being late, not listening and not sitting up straight!!
We explored the Forrester's cottage and noticed how homes were different in the past. We used the washboard, dolly and tub and mangle to find out how clothes were washed in the past. We decided we wouldn't like to have to go to the toilet at the bottom of the garden!
We had fun making a wooden spinning top to play with. We enjoyed 'The Gruffalo trail' too!
